Aloha Gnarus

Welcome to hunatrainer. Mostly I work with Serge Kahili King and his simple westernised explanations work well for me. All of his books are available from http://www.huna.net

Start with Urban Shaman for a good background on the Kupua tradition. There are a number of various teachers out there claiming to know the only real versionof huna but there are many valid traditions out there. Some claiming to be Huna are mainly not even Polynesian in origin.

The guys who regularly post here have worked with Serge's work and can answer questions and there are many gems of wisdom in the journals.

Have fun.

Kahu

Aloha :)

I've been learning about "Kahili" Huna, I started right here listening to Pohaku's podcasts.

Pohaku of course had his interpretation of the 7 principles, 3 selves and 4 worlds of the huna taught by Aloha International, http://www.huna.org

Kahu is an Alaka'i of Aloha International, an expert with lomilomi and huna and an expert shaman. Pretty much any teacher will have their own take on things. The Huna taught from the 'kahili' perspective is a form of 'adventurer' shamanism. As opposed to say a more "warrior" orientated tradtition.

If it was me picking a "learn" list on Huna

HunaTrainer Podcasts - Pohaku
bbs.hunatrainer.com
Urban Shaman - Serge Kahili King
Internet
Mastering your Hidden Self, SKK
Imagineering for health, SKK
Classes, discussions, healing circles with the "Huna Fellowship" in "Second Life"
Dangerous Journeys, SKK
Kahuna Healing, SKK
Huna, SKK

oh wait......thats what I did! lol :)

Aloha!

Aloha Gnarus :)

I'd start with Urban Shaman (Serge Kahili King) and read that for any number of years lol
oh , right ...that's what *I* did. And I'm not even a slow reader or anything :)
Just *that* book...and "Mastering your Hidden Self" - wonderful books!
Looking forward to reading all Serge's other books in Hawaii soon! But Urban Shaman did it for me.
One thing is reading the stuff intellectually :) I mean in university we covered Kant in a week, Husserl and Heidegger in another each - and man, those aren't easy reads - In stark contrast Serge writes like heaven:) clear, logical, good examples. Down to earth - no waffle. And yet I'm not done reading Urban Shaman after 14 years or so. :))) I mean I *have* read it...several times... but I haven't finished it. :) Internalising it. Fully.

Aloha and happy adventure from Denmark

Aloha!

I am reading Rima Morrells book as this very momment. I have to say I have found it to be very good indeed. The Amazon reviews seem about right to me. And becuase of it I hooked up back here again.

Cant speak for the others.

Yet that is.

The only ones really for the moment are the ones Serge does in Second Life. He uses the 7 principles to teach various subjects and usually does one per month. They cost $100 lindens which is the online currency which equates to about 50 cents in real money. You can earn some online for free in some places.

Other than that feel free to post questions here. Urban Shaman gives you a great background on the principles and the levels.

I'm often in SL and available via skype, MSN or Yahoo.

Aloha
Kahu
